On November 18th PSR PA organized for families affected by unconventional gas development (aka Fracking) to meet in the state Capitol. Numerous meetings with legislators were held, and at a press conference outside the governor's office, Gov. Wolf was confronted by affected families and their supporters.
The event was covered in over 100 media outlets, including the Washington Post, New York Times, ABC News, US News & World Report, Seattle Times, Sacramento Bee, and Charlotte Observer!
Days later, Go. Wolf announced that Pennsylvania will invest $3 million to investigate the health effects of unconventional gas development!
We can't thank our own Tammy Murphy (PSR Medical Advocacy Director), Laura Dagley (PSR Medical Advocacy Coordinator), and our generous supporters enough for making this event happen. We can only hope our advocacy and education can help with the current crisis in rare childhood cancers, and prevent another generation from being affected.
